American Foods Group, LLC, has opportunities for a Food Safety Coordinator to join our growing and dynamic Food Safety and Quality Assurance Department. You must demonstrate assertiveness and can work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with a dedication to food safety and quality.   Your responsibilities as our Food Safety Coordinator will include: - Aid in the development and implementation of the food safety and animal welfare system at the facility, while providing maintenance and continuous improvement. - Maintain customer and product complaints logs and participate in foreign material investigations. - Coordinate meetings as needed with the Food Safety Teams to discuss and report issues, concerns, and improvements to maintain the integrity of the food safety system. - Overseeing the employee training processes to ensure the successful completion and implementation of all required trainings. - Staying current on all BRC and regulatory updates and changes and communicating these changes to the Food Safety Teams. - Maintain records and data from product quality micro data, finished product testing results, shelf-life data, water quality, and intervention validation data. - Communicating and working with plant management and production workers to develop and maintain systems that promote quality. - NOTE: this description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Calihan Pork Processors, LLC., an American Foods Group Company, has an opportunity for a Lead (Harvest Floor) at our Peoria, IL plant. You must have the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with a dedication to quality.    As our Lead (Harvest Floor), you will: - Oversee operations to provide for day-to-day control of assigned department activities according to prescribed schedules, priorities, production flow, and processing specifications to ensure production efficiencies are met hourly, evaluate department work performance and take corrective action. - Make sure all tools and supplies needed to get the job done are available. - Make sure all equipment being taken apart is being done safely and properly and that equipment is stored properly. - Make sure all production change-overs are performed properly. - Notify Maintenance when maintenance is required. - Make sure all re-work is returned to the proper lines in a timely manner. - Oversee the integrity of finished product (quality, weights, labeling, etc.) - Notify plant supervision when issues arise. - Ensure production efficiency. - Make sure the proper meat is being used at all times by the dumpers. - Complete required paperwork daily. - Train employees in assigned areas. - NOTE: this description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Calihan Pork Processors is a place where you can develop your career to the fullest, while working in a friendly environment.   We are seeking a full-time, Quality Assurance Manager to join our team in Peoria, IL whose main responsibilities will include: - Communicate and work with customer and suppliers in addition to production supervisors and leads. - Liaison with USDA inspectors. - Develop, implement, and audit effectiveness of food safety management systems. - Maintain and expand on current plant standards to comply with the BRC Global Standards. - Lead crisis management: product withdrawal, recall and potential food borne illnesses. - Facilitate food safety meetings, audits, and documentation. - Take part in weekly management meetings discussing overall business and challenges/improvements that need to be focused on. - Account for tools and other potentially dangerous equipment that are distributed daily. - Monitor mixing for products/ingredients for tampering, foreign objects, and accuracy. - Manage non-compliances and assess root causes and provide suggested corrective actions. - Maintaining customer complaints and product complaints. - Manage QA Supervisors/Techs. - Conduct trainings for QA employees. - Handle all issues pertaining to the quality, labeling and disposition of products. - Monitors and evaluates Quality Control personnel as it relates to their job description. - Answer issues with government regulatory personnel. - Monitors pest program. - Follow all food safety, quality and BRC rules. - Conduct active Food Security and Defense surveillance. - NOTE: this description is not intended to be all-inclusive. You must have the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with a dedication to quality.    Hours: Harvest (1st Shift)                   6:00 am - End of Shift (3:30 pm - 4:00 pm) Boning/Processing (1st Shift)    6:30 am - End of Shift (3:30 pm - 4:30 pm)   Wages: $17.50 per hour + Incentive   As General Production - Harvest, you will: - Perform a variety of specialized tasks in a warm, hot, humid or wet environment. - Properly use tools such as knives, hooks, or other specialized equipment. - Perform physical tasks which require upper body strength and constant repetitive movements. - Stand on hard surfaces the entire shift; use of stairs and personal protection equipment (PPE) is required in all areas of the facility. - Compliance with all food safety policies and regulations. - Adhere to all safety and housekeeping processes and procedures to ensure safety for our employees, customers and visitors. - Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions. - Work and collaborate with a diverse work population. - NOTE: this description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
